Okay so I just purchased a JCW big break kit from another member, but just the front end. Aside from having different caliper carriers/carrier mounts, are there any issues one would run into transferring the stock front MCS rotors and calipers on the rear?
I run the JCW 4 post on the front and the stock on the rear. It would take some work to mount those to the rear and they dont have the parking brake integrated cable. Its more work then its worth, I would just run the JCW brakes up front. Or maybe replace the rears with the second half and rotors/ pads of the JCW brake kit.
When you go to the JCW four pots or the full JCW kit you are suppose to get the JCW brake flash which dial back the ABS , otherwise it kicks on more. I had the flash on mine and it dial back the ABS, otherwise it just kicks on sooner in light to hard braking. MINI dealer will flash it , about 1 hr shop time. Factory JCW cars already have the flash.

Yea, i would get it , its really touchy without it on the ABS from what I felt, especially when they are new with new pads and rotors. Later down the road you could do the rears, it will increase the balance a little bit more. We found with the standard rear , that going to the red larger rears, it was better balanced.
The rear caliper is the same between the standard and JCW, except for the red finish. The difference is the caliper mounting bracket and the diameter of the rotor. So you could use your existing calipers with just a new mounting bracket and rotors. WMW has a kit.
4 pot, four piston. Its a term used for brakes. Sorry, did not mean to confuse you.
These : As they have four pistons in the front caliper.
ECS a Question - I replaced my 4 piston JCW Brembo front brakes with the 6 piston JCW GP Brembo brakes. Is there a different program or update I will need to have done or will the current program with the 4 piston brakes be sufficient? I did the work myself not through MINI or independant shop. The brakes are phenomenal and I can't see it being any better but if it needs it for any reason I'd like to know.

We found when testing all combos, for the GP2 brake kit, the upgraded master that's in the GP2 stock and the JCW brake flash are a must for brake pedal feel and dialing back the ABS. As the GP2 front brake are very aggressive on the MINI. Personally the best brake I have felt on a MINI before. Thats why we have it in a GP2 Brake conversion kits and mention to get the JCW 4 piston brake kit flash after installed ( which you already have with the JCW car ).

Ah, forgot to mention I added the GP 2 master cylinder as well as ECS brake lines (red ones). So, I have that and the 4-piston JCW Brembo flash - so it sounds like I should be good. I didn't think they could feel any better but wanted to be sure. Phenomenal brakes these GP2 Brembos...
