Inspection up, need tires

Ok, so I procrastinate. Anywhere other than the dealer that I can quickly get tires? 175/65 15eeies. I've heard lots of "oh, that's an odd size, I can order them".

How about The Tire Rack? Go with Fed Ex ground shipping.
It took 3 days to California.....Quickly, how quick?

You might check with Costco or Sam's club tire sections if you are a member and live close.

The tirerack.com will have the continental OEM tires in that size and can ship them to you or your tire specialist pretty fast. $52 each tire plus shipping

195/60/15s are plentiful and will fit nicely on your factory 15s. They look a lot better, too.

The dealer was hesitant to recommend that size.

There are many options for various size tires that will fit your stock 15x5.5" rims.
Tires even as large as 205/50-15 will fit but the problem is that a specialty tire shop might be required to do the mounting and balancing due to having the right equiptment to handle the small rim and wider tire. The cost of mounting might be higher like $20 per tire compared to Costco's $9 per tire for mounting and balancing.

I checked costco and they had no 175/65-15 size.

So you can check performance tire specialty shops and see what they might recommend in sizes slightly wider than your stock tires. The wider tires will cost more but you can corner better. You might get less mpg and road noise from the wider tires and they might not last as many miles as the stock tires.

There was a Cooper with 195/60s for sale at my dealer. Really looked sharp. And likely, your dealer didn't have that size to sell you. 'Twas just a suggestion, anyways.

Thanks guys. Apparently, the entire country is out of that size .

None at the dealer. None at numerous online sites (including Tire Rack). None locally. None none none!

I want these for year-round tires. I (as you can probably tell) hate the bother of putting on snow tires. I'll research those mentioned and hopefully have British Kevin Behaving Badly back into legal status!

I just replaced my 15" Continentals with some 195 60 15 Kumho Ecstas(very high rating from Tire Rack users) from the Tire Rack. I used a local recommended installer from their website, and it worked super...FAST TOO !

I called the installer to get a quote for installation on a Thursday PM, I ordered the tires online that night and had them drop shipped direct to the installer. I called Monday AM to see if the tires were there , and they were, so I made an appt. for Tuesday AM, dropped the car off at 7:30 AM, and picked up at noon.

The installer did a super professional job, was able to apply all the wheel weights on the inside of the wheels, and I couldn't be happier with the tire purchase and the install process....done right in my home town. They also did my NYS Inspections as well !

The plus sized tires are also a big improvement over the originals, softer ride an better handling and they were only $40 a piece + shipping.

195/60/15 or 205/55/15

Both are totally acceptable fits on your Mini.

Cool, that's what I needed to hear It just seems that even installers, probably due to the fact that they never put tires on MINIs, give the old "uh, I don't know if it's good" or something like that !

I recently got tires and wheels through DiscounttireDirect. Worked out great. Made out the order on line, took it in to the local Discount Tire Shop, they were shipped there no charge, piece of cake. I've dealt with Discount for several years, and the free rotation, balance, and road hazard upgrade is worth it. If your getting just tires, it should be quick and easy (although probably not until tomorrow--Labor Day and all).
