17x8 wide??

Is there such a thing as a 17"x8", 4x100mm wheel for the Mini? Harder yet, can I get them in flat black?

17x7 or 17x7.5" is fairly easy to find in 4x100 but most will weigh more rather than less.
17 pounds for even that size is good but not great. Lowest are 14 and under but you will pay quite a bit more for that lighter weight. I notice you didn't specify the price so I hope you are willing to pay alot to get a large diameter very light rim and pay even more to powercoat them black if they do not come in that color (about $60 each).

At edgeracing.com under 5Zigen wheels I find-
Fn01r-c in flat black and hyperblack in 17x8" but in 4x114 bolt pattern.
To get 4x100 you have to go bigger and get 18x7.5" +43mm offset 18 pounds $222 each which is not bad if you like 5 spoke designs.

See http://edgeracing.com/wheels/flik/
If you don't mind Flik Tdr-b in 17x7" offset +38mm 15.5 pounds $155 each flat black
Is there a reasone why you need 8" wide rims? Need a particular size tire? If you go with 225/45-17 you'd likely rub.

At tirerack.com there aren't many black wheels. Just looking there are no 17x8 rims
Kosei K1 Racing 17x7.5" et +45mm 16.3 pounds $179 each silver or white
Kosei K1 TS 17x7" et +42mm 14.1 pounds $199 each light grey or silver
SSR comps 17x7.5" et +42mm 12.8 pounds $355 each anthracite or silver
SSR comps 18x7.5" et +42mm 14 pounds $399 each anthracite or silver
SSR GT1 17x7.5" et +45mm 16.5 pounds $339 each silver
SSR GT1 18x7.5"et +40mm 17 pounds $329 each silver
and more

So the answer is no Thanks for the comprihensive answer. I already have 17x7s that's under 13 lbs. And yes, I am looking to mount 225/45-17 R tires. I'm not worried about rubbing as trimming and not too aggressive height reduction will minimize that.

Chris,

I have seen your post before and actually have filed your photos, but you leave me hanging always.
Just WHAT size are these wheels??? I mean to ask what make and what offset are they?
How about tire make and size?
The car looks lowered, how much and with what?

Thanks much!

the tires that i am running right now are 205-40-17 in front and in the rear in have 215-40-17. the ET on my wheels are a little bit different to any other wheels. in the front i am running a +35 offset and in the rear it a +25 offset. i took my buddy matt about a week to figure out what offset to use and to clear the fender and the inner fender. the rear subframe on my car is about 1/2 in away from my wheel. little scary. not all tires can be stretched. toyo t1-s's and bridgestone s03(i am running) are the most common tire used for a stretched look, and no you cant put any wider then that because of fender clearance. my car is lowered from stock about 2 1/2 to 3 inches. my kw on the front are lowered all the way down and the rears are aout half way. because of the camber in the rear i had to run mini-madness adjustable control arms and due to oversteering i added a 20mm mini-madness sway bar. i handles awesome, i am sure if i put a set of 7in wide wheels on front and back i am sure i would handle 10 times better. I AM NOT GIVING OUT THE MAKE. i dont want to be one of those guys that everyone else has the same wheels and that everyone copies. took me 3 months to find the right wheels, and anyone else can do the same. any wheels that is wide you are going to be spending from 400 and up a wheel. so get ready. thanks for the comment on my car.

later

Juveniles don't like to share...and often become upset when they have to. They often lack respect for others, as was also indicated by his private message to me, which I cannot share because of it's very offensive language.

The fact is, he is the one who posted the mfg, and source for the wheels here:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=25272

If someone wishes to keep a "secret", do not post it on a public forum.
