I'm looking to reduce my rolling diameter while maintaining my footrpint. DOes anyone know if they make a 30 or 35 series 215 R17? Prefer R-compound or even slicks Maybe from the UK for Hill Climbs?

Why don't you just got with a 205/50 15" tire? Just about every R-compound known to man is made in the 205/50 15" size, and its a fair bit smaller in diameter than stock. It's also much cheaper to find a light set of 15s so your performance will be better.

There is one, the PZero Nero in 215/35-17 83W XL - Alex will probably bawk at the load rating, and the tire diameter is way less than stock. Go for a smaller wheel size, or run a 215/40-17

Yes, the Pirelli PZero Nero is the only tire that came up with a tirerack.com search for 215/30-17 or 215/35-17. Besides smaller 15" rims another tire size that came up was 215/35-18 but that is more heavy. R-compound tires are not available in those sizes but are available in 205/50-15 (Avon Tech R, Kumho Victoracers/ V710, Hoosiers, Toyo Ra-1, etc)

Using an 83 load rating tire would be less than recommended. If you are the only one in the MINI and it is used only for this hill climbing event then it might be possible to cheat and use them in either 215/35-17 or better yet 215/40-17 since the later has a slightly wider sectional width of 8.6" vs 8.4"
but only if you are using 7.5" wide rims. If you have a 17x7" rim then the 215/40-17 tire won't fit since the recommended rim size is 7.5" to 8.5".

The 215/35-17 tire has a really small overall diameter of 22.9" which is close to a 205/50-15 tire. This smaller wheel size helps with gearing so that would be a plus.

I've found the following in 215/35R17:

Continental SportContact2
Dunlop SP Sport 9000 (extra load tire)
Yokohama AVS ES100

Opinions? I've heard good things about the SportContact2.

I have Bridgestone S-03 and Toyo T1S Proxies (215/40R17) but I was looking to reduce the overall diameter a touch without reverting back to the smaller brakes.
