If you've seen my other tire related posts you'll know I am thinking about getting rid of the 16" run-flats for something better performing. Below I've posted questions I recently asked, followed by answers from TireRack.com tech, Doug:
-------------
Question1: If the tire says DSST, does that indicate run flat?
Yes.
Q2: I'm looking for a beter performing tire that the OEM Dunlop SP5000 run flat tires. What higher performance run flats do you sell?
Dunlop Sport 3000A
Q3: What are your thoughts on replacing the OEM Dunlops with a better performing, but non-run flat tire?
You can do that, but a flat will leave you stranded. (see flat related thread on this)
Q4: Can I go to 205 width on the factory 16" wheels?
Yes, 205/50-16 works

for performance my top 2 are Bridgestone S-03, followed up By Goodyear Eagle F1-gs D3.

For performance comfort Pirelli Pzero Nero, followed up by Firestone Firehawk Sz-50

Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position ($168 225/35-18) ($153 215/40-17)
PZero Nero ($130 215/40ZR17) ($148 215/45ZR17 XL) <-- what does "XL" mean there?
Firestone Firehawk SZ50 EP ($149 215/45-17)
Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 ($117 215/40ZR17)

what about:
Yokohama Parada Spec-2 ($95 205/45-17) ($152 225/35-18) ($134 215/35-18)
Yokohama AVS ES100 ($93 205/45-17)
Kumho Ecsta MX ($113 215/40YR17) ($120 215/45YR17) ($121 225/45YR17)

The ones you listed tend to be a bit more expensive than the two Yokohama and the Yokohama's got great reviews and very high marks in the "survey" section. Dont know anything about the Kumho's....

Thanks for all the input Dan...I was really thinking about those SZ50s before, but now i think i might be sold....Unless you think they're too wide or something. I'm open to suggestions from anyone and everyone, but especially Dan

I would say Parada is more show that Go. Es 100 has worked phenominally for several MC owners. Kumhos, kinda firm, kinda loud lotsa dry grip. MX's are really new( last july) thats why they lack survey data

Check out the SZ50, I use that constantly on C5's, they just rave about it.
