I have been looking at rims for my mini for quite some time now, but all the rims I like only come in the 5 lug config and not the mini's 4. I ran across this pic in an early post and I was wondering how they got these to fit. Any help would be great, I don't know much about the filling and drilling procedure, but it appears in the picture they are using the 5 lug config.

Also, whoever owns that car, please send or direct me to a full photo of your Mini. The checkered side job looks pretty cool.

Thanks in advance!

http://www.breyton.de i believe. The wheels are not driveable in that state. At several shows the wheels to be used aren't in production yet so they use a 5 lug version. I dont know exactly how they get 'em on there, but i know they cant drive it as-is. There *are* mods you can do to get a 5 lug wheel to fit, but i dont think they come highly recommended.

such tricksters. I don't know the logistics of this, but could you replace the 4 lug setup with a 5 lug setup on the car. I don't know what you would have to do, but the idea of just 4 lug wheels is a bit depressing.

I had emailed the company a while back about these wheels and was told the Mini in the photo has prototype wheels (Breyton Magic Racing 2 piece). The Breyton Magic Sport 1 piece wheels being produced for the Mini are 4 bolt.

These wheels appear to be a little outboard of stock. Could be they are using a 4 to 5 lug adapter. These are commonly used in hotrods where people swap wheels and wheel patterns. The offset change isn't too dramatic, but little or no change is better.

The 4 lugs on the MINI wheels is one of the things that I do not like. For some reason, I am quite a snob in this area and have learned to look at the lugs on some models of some particular Japanese cars in order to determine if the car is really a fast car or if it just has the wrong decals and badges on it.

If they were 5 lugs, chances are they would use the same bolt pattern as MY VW GTI and then I would be super happy to be able to keep my 16" 2 piece BBS wheels instead of selling them for a joke of a price.
