No runflats, No Spare!

I picked up a 2015 F55 last week. It is my first Mini. I assumed it had runflats, but decided to actually verify that today. I should have known, from the nice ride, that it had standard tires, but didn’t realize it, til I checked them out. The original window sticker, in the glove compartment, shows a spare, but I confirmed it is not present. And yes, I did check underneath the car for it. I do have a jack and the tools necessary to change a tire, and a boyfriend to do it for me. 😉 So, should I purchase a donut for just under $200.00, or put runflats on it? The supplied 17 inch tires are in great shape. What would you do?

I’d get the compact spare.

I decided to call the used car dealer, where I purchased the car, and addressed my concerns. They agreed that the car should have had a spare tire, and they are ordering me the compact spare, at no charge. It will take about a week. To say I am surprised is an understatement. Go Carmax!

They have a great business model. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a nice used car. They had several Minis available. I chose mine based on the low (32,000) mileage.

Best price I found on a donut spare was at Waymotor Works.
