One more question. The only way I've been able to disassemble components glued with Red Loctite is by applying heat. Assuming that one day I get aftermarket wheels and I need longer studs, what's the recommended way of removing them?? Will I have to drill them out??
Wow...missed this thread altogether. Here's mine from BMP. More expensive than Pilo's But, I wanted black. These are 50mm with hex head. The nuts are 20mm long/forged/anodised alloy open type.

On my '03 Cooper S, thread-in studs came loose frequently, and came out when nuts were loosened. I've heard locally of MINIs breaking more than one studs during a track day. I use bolts on my Cooper S at the track and on my Vintage Formula Vee. I won't use studs on a car that was originally equipped with bolts again. I've never had troubles with bolts.

What material were the studs that they broke. I have done Auto X, Track Events, and Street in NJ (Large Pot Holes) with out issue. We use studs that are cold Forged Steel, and are zinc Plated for corosion resistance.
for the Roja's 37 mm should work if you are able to use the stock bolts.
Octaneguy. If they are not removable with the alen wrench, then you can drive a bit with hardbraking to heat up the brakes. That should allow the locktite to loosen enough to be removed.

I can special order Black Chrome lugs if anyone wants, but there is a 1-2 week delay on them.
Wiring up the rear fogs to come on with the brake lights (a two minute job). If you're worried about being punted at a stop light, like me...add an "intelligent flasher module" to your CHMSL Certainly priceless for peace of mind
what length bolts would i need with a set of 18" Roja formula 5's? im wanting in on this order.. thanks

Looking at the Roja's You may be better off with a Tuner Style Lug, for 2 reasons. First, ther are smaller in diamater, and less chance of marring up your wheel, Second, they are installed with an alen type adapter, and are harder to steal.

Did you know that when you press the brake pedal that the brake lights will not light up unless the key is in the "on" position? No other vehicle I have ever owned did this!

FYI...my BMP version uses a 19mm socket (for better leverage). The down side is that it requires me to carry the required socket so I just keep my torque wrench with my tool kit.
