Initial selection ,advise needed.

I have made an initial choice of wheel and tire to replace the runflats ,on my 04 MCS

The wheel I have chosen is 17X7 ET:42 (is that offset )?? and weighs in at 17lbs.
The recomended tire size in the bundle is 205/45/17, but I have noticed that most go with the 215/45/17 .
I would like to go with this size . Suspension is stock at present but later on I would like to lower slightly . Would the 215 /45/17 on those wheels cause me any problems.?
My ride is a daily driver and I would also like to do some occassional Auto X . Perhaps someone could comment on the tires I am interested in, didn`t turn up too much in the searchs as to any favorites out of the 2 I have been looking at .
Proxes4
Ziex 512
Any advise would be most welcome.

If you lower the car the 215/45's might rub. I have 215/40's on mine and no rubbing, the ride is good also. We also have the same size tires on our cooper.

I have a set of 215/40's that have about 400 miles on them they are falcon ziek ze512, they still have almost all of the old injection nubs on them. I ended up going with a more agressive tire and now I have these in my garage. We have the ze512's on our cooper and they ride very nice, quiet and they dont grab the lines on the fwy.

If you are interested in the tires I will give you a deal to get them out of my garage.

PM me if you are interested.

Sorry, I can't answer your question - but I can tell you for certain that the 225/45/17's rub - I have 'em. But it's not too bad.

If rubbing occurs, with that offset it will be minimal, and correcting it rather simple. Lowering actually increases the clearance twards the fenderlip.
