I'm not running those (I'm in G stock) but I would have to agree. Wider is better for autocrossing. Don't worry about the gearing change from a taller tire, it's just not an issue compared with more grip. At nationals you mainly see super light wheels like SSR's, taking advantage of the +/- quarter inch off-set rule, with the widest tire that can be squeezed onto the rim. We ran a 225/45/15 on a 6" wide wheel. You have to cut them off when they're spent.

Anybody run this setup? Thoughts?
Thanks,

With 15x7" rims you'll want to use the widest tire size that fits available for that tire. Some tires only come in 205/50-15 and that will do. While other tires come in your choice if sizes including 225/45-15 (better choice).
225/45-15 will fit nicely with 15x7" rims and there should be no rubbing issues when wheel offset is about +37mm to +45mm. You should expect the tires to look quite wide and extend out beyond the wheel wells. This also means that the wider stance will sneak you up closer to the cones and maybe shake a few so make some adjustment to your line.
You will gain about 3 pounds on each tire moving from 205/50 to 225/45.
This is OK since you gain in grip.

Will 225/55s work ok. Unfortunately, the Victoracers do not come in 225/45 - only 205/50 and 225/55. I have V700s in 225/45 now, but was considering changing to Victos.
Any thoughts?
