The K1 TS is lighter then the K1 but I don't know about the clearance. I used the stock bolts and they work fine but you cannot use the stock lug wrench. I used a breaker bar with a deep socket 17mm from sears, and I found that the mcgard wheel locks don't work. The gorillas work great though(Thanks Alex!)

I've been looking at the GT1 myself...I thought about the BBS RC but some thought the wheel was too busy for the Mini(I do not agree but the GT1 is lighter with offset closer to stock).

FYI:

The 17" Kosei K1 TS are very light and look awesome, I have pics from the track if you want to see, browser won't let me upload tham currently.. Very Happy with them, thanks Tire Rack

I did one day at Mid-Ohio and 2 days at BeaveRun in PA on them

They fit over the Wilwood TCE BBK fit with NO spacer !!!

The Centerline wheels I have need a 5 mm spacer

Phil

The gravity casting process does not produce a particularly strong wheel. Given that the Kosei wheel is cast, and also the lightest, as well as the cheapest, it would give me structural concerns as a track wheel. The OZ and SSR have a fine reputation for competition use and production quality. They are heavier and more expensive for a reason. It costs more to make a strong wheel, and the forged material is not porus like a casting. You get what you pay for, look at the big picture.

Well, while running on a dyno last weekend I noticed some flaws on my K1s. Was quite disapointed as I really like them.

i use the kosei k1's as my daily wheels and the SSR GT1's as my track wheels. they are a pound or two more but at 120+mph i want the stronger wheel.

question for all of you TCE BBK users. do any of you have the 1.1 inch thick rotor on the 13" rotor?

What's wrong with your K1's? I am planning to get Kosei's in the future...please don't tell me they bend easily.

I know Randy Webb has run the K1 wheel on his "Mule" for quite some time. When I asked him about them, he said he was happy with them. Several off track runs through the grass and no problem. From that he felt they were quite strong.

the track that i go to has two long straights and i do top out at about 120 before i have to slow down. the longer of the two is up hill and the second has a nice kink then a downhil brakes zone. that top end proved to be a problem with the porsche club earlier this month but lots of them went off track too so i don't feel so bad. me and the BMW's kept at least two wheels down and on the track at all times.

on a side note i've never seen so many wrecked GT3's. one actually hit another porsche at 100+ and went over it....... everyone was ok just pissed off.

do you know the track that well? it's my favorite. my car does well on the north course and the grand east, lots of curves and not so many striaghts as the regular full course. i record all my track events with an in car cam. if you'd like to see some fast laps i send you a dvd of some recent ones.

Please advise...

Do you reckon that the Kosei wheels, as shown on Red-Rage's car and sold in America are the same as the wheels that I have on my car? (Sold as Kei-Racing alloys in the UK?)

Could someone please help me out here? Basically I was wondering if the TCE/Willlwood BBK would clear the spokes since the design appears to be the same?

Wheel size is 18 x 7.5 (+42 offset)

A piccie is attached to help your judgement

Thanks all,

Henry

Yup

A BBK won't hurt the looks, but I really need the stopping power after everything has gone on my car...

Please someone offer some advice

Faster way yet is to pull a wheel and take some measurements.

*that's FAQ, then 'wheel fit'. Sorry, didn't seem to take the whole address

My vote goes to the OZ Superleggera:

These will clear even the monster sized StopTech ST-40 calipers with only a 5mm spacer :
