Speedo, Rubbing Issues???

Recently ordered Konig Imagine Opal Machined 17 X 7, 4-100M with Yoko Parada 215-40ZR-17 from Discount Tire Direct. Wheels are on back-order until early April so I have time to change tire size. Will I have any rubbing issues with a stock '04 MCS and will speedo be out of whack? Have driving school days coming and Dragon later. Thanks

Wellll....... how about you cancel the order on those wheels and get something that's actually lighter then you stock wheels? I know these wheels are real nice looking, as I was about to get them myself. But after some real research, I realized I'd be doing nothing for performance so I went with the Kosie K1s. Yeah, not as flashy, but the car is quicker.

Yes, they are 22.4#@corner. I really am not interested in weight savings at this point. If I was to autocross etc. I would purchase a different tire/wheel combination all together. I am just interested if there will be any speedo/rubbing issues.

Doubt they will rub, especially if you have not lowered the car.

Speedo might change slightly, but it already reads height so another couple of MPH won't kill ya.

215's will rub. Alex@tirerack called me when I ordered my 215/50R16 Avons to tell me so, and he was right. Others with 215's on 17" wheels have reported similar issues, but the problem is improved by H-Sport springs, which actually lower the car by an inch. Strange that they would cut down on the problem, but there's no question that they do.

Check out this site's tire size calculator, that will tell you how far your speedo will be off: http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp Enter your stock specs on one side (205/45R17 or 195/55R16), and your new specs (215/40R17) on the other.
