DC area roads and debris.

Two (left front and rear) were wrecked in a single incident. A chunk of tree branch hopped out of a truck ahead of me and thanks to heavy traffic I couldn't swerve far enough to miss it.

The third was killed in a road construction encounter. Some asphalt surface had been removed (for resurfacing) and the step back up to the old, undisturbed surface was too much for one of my Comps. Yes, this was an unusual circumstance and the Comps weren't entirely to blame. However, this was a very high traffic road and I was the only one I saw pulled over with a damaged wheel (and thousands passed without stopping during the hour or so I was parked there).

Call it what you will, but for me it was the straw that broke the camel's back. I loved the Comps on my MINI but decided they weren't for me after all. I switched to Kosei K1-TS'. They also are relatively light and they're only cast, but they're much cheaper so I won't cringe so much if/when I have to replace them.

Bridgestone S-03s, 215/45-17, afraid I don't remember the pressure right now but I know I was sure at the time that it wasn't a contributing factor.

For TC005 (silver or white)

16x7 $399
17x7 $419

available in May

SA-90 (bronze)
16x7 $269
available in July.

*according to tirerack.

I'd love a set in 17" white but at that price point, I am not sure.

At $269 I'd guess those are the gravity cast SA-90s vice the forged...(note "FORGED" stamped on the rim - click here)

That's unfortunate. maybe that extra metal will help you
reinforce on the Weds for your roads out there.

Has anyone got these on a MINI yet? I'm thinking of swapping my OZs for these in 16" anthracite. Anyone with pics of these on a MINI?
