Questions on tire wear and stock setup

I didn't know where to post this other than here, but I've noticed that tires (both my original runflats and now my ziex 512's ) are wearing MUCH more on the insides of the front tires (both driver and passenger) than on the outside. My main question is IS THAT NORMAL for an MC with stock suspension? I'm guessing its because of a "toe - out"? Is that the way it's supposed to be? Any body else notice the same thing?

My Cooper did the same thing, I got the alignment checked and they told me it was off by quite a bit. Back was fine but the front bad.

I haven't had any uneven wear issues with the stock Dunlops on my MCS. And I deliberately didn't rotate the tires.

Apart from a misadjusted suspension (eg, toe in/toe out), the culprit might be improper inflation.

If it's wearing on the outside only, then your toe or camber is probably off. Low inflation would cause the inside and outside to wear higher. I didn't rotate and got 27k miles out of the front Pirellis. The middle was worn a little more than the edges because I kept the pressure a little higher than recommended.

No! If it had improper air pressure, you would have wear on both inner & outer edge with low air pressure. If over inflated, the tires would wear moreso in the center of tire. Have your alignment checked.

Thanks fo the advice. I guess my dealership would say that falls under "normal wear" and wouldn't be covered. Certainly without the original rims and tires I'm sure they won't even consider it. Any idea of what a front alignment "should" cost?

P.S. What pressure are you guys running on the fronts? I try to keep mine around 32-35.

I was at my local Goodyear on Saturday and they wanted $74.95 for a 4 wheel alignment..

Firestone charges the same amount for a "lifetime alignment". As long as you own your car you can bring it in as much as you want for four wheel alignments. I've had it on my past 2 cars. not bad...
