SSR Comps
Emailed tire rack yesterday but no response as yet. I've heard about SSR going into bankruptcy (allegedly), but that could be reorganization for all I know - - - want to know if the SSR comps are still available - (or GT1s for that matter) - anybody know? Want 16 X 7 inch.
Thanks

The Comp is definitely still available and should continue to be. The GT1 seems to be in short supply. I get the feeling that it might be going away.
On a somewhat related subject, I did a quick search for SSR GT1, just to verify that I was thinking about the right wheel, and came across this page:
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/ssr/ssr.jsp
I've never heard of the Comp-X wheel that tirerack has listed. It's just a fully painted Comp. Does anyone know if these are available yet? People have been wanting access to something like this for a long time.

I myself just ordered ONE SSR Comp Anthracite 17x7.5 today as I bent a wheel.
I asked Lynn (x290) about SSR's bankruptcy and she said something along the lines that they are now under a restructuring plan. They filed for bankruptcy protection so that their creditors wouldn't shut them down.
They should still be good to go unless they did not come up with a good restructuring plan!

Of course, SSR has great brand recognition, and it's market position will help it stay viable, as long it becomes fiscally responsible after it's restructuring plan takes effect.
