JCW Brake Ducts

If I am not mistaken, the JCW website notes that they only sell the brake ducts as an installed item, not as a do-it-yourself kit. The impression I got was that they fit in the bumper in lieu of the fog lights.

as for the rough edges, you won't be seeing it much once it is installed..

They install under the front bumper.

You have to notch your bottom air dam (hangs under the front bumper back about 6 inches from the front). They mount to an existing bolt under the front end and two screws into the bottom of the front bumper. Very quick install (took about 30 minutes if that.) I will try to post pics tomorrow.

In fact you don't see much of them at all. Randy from M7 saw them today in person at Steves Auto Clinic. He liked them, at least that is what he said . His opinion on what I thought was a lack of quality was that they seemed to be made for function more than appearance.

interesting, but how far below the bumper does it go? is there a risk of ripping it off if one were to bottom the front of the car out? (you know youve all done it :P)

I did like them and would have told you if i didn't honestly. As I mentioned to you they are definatly the " real deal " CF wise and the glued together seams are functionally sound if not all that pretty. My only concern is that I feel they may be a " track only " mod. They are going to ride close to the ground which is ok on a well paved race track but everyday driving is going to be risky.Perhaps they will suprise us all as I never thought our front splitter would last but its been 9 months nowand it's still there LOL. I will go by Steve's tomorrow and ask how the install went. I wish you well and it was great meeting you. Amazing car you have there !

Thanks Randy!

It was nice meeting you too. I am concerned about how long these will last but a 130 mile day today and the only placed I scraped them was my driveway! Careful driving ahead I guess.

Now for the pics

Now for those that wanted pics. Sorry about the quality. I took them when the car was on the ground so they are from funny angles

Here is another one.

Where the duct directs air to the wheel. Not a really good angle for this one. It blows right on the rotor/caliper area.

Ohhh mannnn, ..... from experience I can tell you that those are very vulnerable to damage. If anyone saw my post on my brake ducks, I've already had to rebuild them. Much better now and have a clearance about exact as these CF ones.

Just be careful!
