$75 for these is VERY tempting.

Don't worry man, I am looking for a deal at least.

$75 for four lines is a helluva deal.
That's less than $20 per hose and at the rock bottom WD price level at best. While I used to hand make my hoses with reusable ends I now have them produced in bulk by Goodridge and their shop network. However I'll confess that my COST on them in qty is higher than that.
How's it sooo low?
My guesses;
1. Import hose. Common and probably the case for many big dealers as well.
2. Import assembly. Not unheard of. Cheap labor in China and Mexico.
3. Very low overhead. And people wonder why vendors scream about forum advertising and magazine ads? He's got no overhead. Ok, $1.75 to ebay maybe?
On that note one comment I'll make (take it as you wish) Supporting vendors like this and promoting their products here does nothing to help real vendors who you rely on in a crunch. There are those who may sell you the same hose set for $120. And you think they'll match this price on ebay? Not on your life. But..when push comes to shove what vendor do you call when you have a question? Bet it won't be the ebay guy. And when you do come to buy from an 'approved vendor', and wonder why his muffler bearing price just went up $10 from last month, remember who has a bin full of hoses he couldn't sell at below cost.

If you find a budget item for a lower price on ebay don't expect it to be of as high quality as those products you find at MINI specialty shops. You will get what you pay for.
Personally I have goodridge SS brakelines from a NAM vendor and they have worked well and held up for the last two years.

But I understand it completely.
The pain in my wallet I can manage . The pain in my ear...unbearable.
After getting out of the MINI, the brakes on my CRX make it feel like I'm stepping on a big sponge.

ok i will hold on and get name brands... i have actually been thinking of the promini stage 1 brake kit.. i already have the upgraded rotors...
(gotta love the mintex 1144)
any comments on it?

OK for street, autocross and some track use.
Dusts more than Ferodo DS2500 pads and wears down faster but easier on rotors. Costs about the same. I've used both. I did get a little squeaking from the M1144.
For brakes, I'd go for the name brand brake lines for safety reasons.

I just installed StopTech ss lines in the rear, and I can now say that I'm done with my braking mods  :
Wilwood 11.75" Race Kit in the front (thanks Todd), and in the rear, the lines joined the rear caliper stiffening kit, and Hawk pads. The fluid is ATE SuperBlue...
Hard canyon drives now produce zero fade, and virtually zero dust . The weight loss (front BBK) was very nice added plus as well...
Back to the lines, the pair cost about 75 bucks...
