My FINAL Tire and Wheel Combo.

Memorial Day weekend I will take a trip down to Dreyer and Reinbold, and get my final answer in the way of wheels: The Silver R90 Split Rim 17"s, I will also try to get my ECU reflashed. I will then procede to the TireRack Warehouse ( that happens to be less than 5 miles from my house, Hummer plant (H2s, H1s, and Humvees) is less than 1 mile from my house!) Once I get I will procede to get Harmon fitted & balanced with BFG G-Force T/A KDW 2s, a badass lookin' tire. Then I will be happy!
What do ya think?

Mikey

You'll love the tires. I have a lot of experience with them on Audi's and VW's. Best all-around set of tires i've ever had. Getting a set on the wheels that I have ordered for my mini too.

The R90's look nice, but they're heavy. If you want that type of look, but with a lighter rim, check out the BBS RGR or RC. They are probably a little more expensive, but I think they look better than the R90s, they're forged, and they carry a badass moniker. I dunno', I'm just one of those few people who still consider wheels to be a performance part...

I did a track day two summers ago with BF Goodrich in which tested the KDW2's against comparable Dunlop, Yok, Toyo, and Pirelli tires. We tested them on modded 1.8t Jettas, IS300s, and 350 Zs (both in the dry and wet). In each test, the KDW won in almost every category by pretty much everyone on the panel. Definitely a great handling tire...I just don't know how well they wear.

They say on tirerack.com, in the reviews that people who drove them normally and sometimes aggresively didn't notice tread wear until about 50k. Plus this is only a summer tire, especially with how crappy the roads get up here from Nov. 1 'till 'bout April 15.

Also my last name is on the tire!

My friend has a Srt-4 and the oem tires are KDW2 and he told me they are loud, loud as if the wheel bearings were bad. Other SRT-4 guys have complained about this as well.

Something to keep in mind if you buy these tires.

I don't. R90's are for dressup and look far better.

hey ken what kind of tires do have on your R90s on the info hyperlink? They look stock but then I looked harder and they didn't? "Maybe I'm Just Blind. Maybe I'm just Blind. Hold while I'm here, love me when I'm gone, love me when I'm gone." Sorry broke into a solo there.

Just a quick check on noise

"On the road, the g-Force T/A KDW-2 was praised for its real world handling, and although its ride quality and noise levels were appropriate for its category, it was louder than the other two tires."
