Yahoo's damaged my rims
After calling around to find a tire shop to replace my tires to get the best price and asking if they could remove runflats with no damage. Getting told no by some tire places and yes by others I chose one of the Yes shops. I now believe they told me yet to get my buisness or have never removed a runflat before. because they damaged all of my rims. some more than others.
not only that they used a screw driver to remove the hub cap.
Humm first lesson as a child. round hole round peg. not jam a screwdriver in round hole. they could have asked for the tool.
The tire shop has agreed to have the rimis repaired and refinished. I belive this means just repainting and a clearcoat.
I believe the origional rims have no clearcoat and are 100% powder coated.
Is a repair accepable? Stupid jerks.

A proper repaint WILL require removal of the tires, though...so keep that in mind. With prep and time for the paints to cure, expect the car to be off the road for a few days.
Personally, I'd visit a few paint and body shops and get estimates on repainting the wheels. Take the estimates to the tire shop, add in the cost of a rental car for however many days the body shops expect it will take, and get a check from the tire shop. I suspect that most of the body shops will be able to R&R the tires..but be sure to check!
Now might be a good time to get a custom color painted on the wheels, if you're into that sort of thing.
Good luck.

I have the stock 16" rims. Actually glad to hear that they are painted. as the rim repair guy is working on them right now. seems he fixes this stuff all the time. he said you wouldn't believe what those guys do to rims at the tire shops. He said he can't fix the hubcaps. He suggest the tire shop should replace them. most of the clear just needed to be buffed out. the one bad one needs a re paint.
One more example whay I hate paying people to work on my cars. to manny idiots.
Unfortunatly I do not have a tire machine so I can't do that myself.

well the last installment of this adventure almost caused alot of damage. while driving home after the rims were re finished. there was a sloght vibration at 70. I thought that was puzzling. I hit traffic and slowed to about 15. the vibration started again so I pulled over. and go my lug wrench out to check the lug nuts. one rim all 4 bolts had backed out 1/2" they were almost out. one more mile down the freeway and I wold have had a 3 wheeled mini and no lug bolts. Thank goodness I had the wits about me to stop and check the lugs.
Friggen Idiots.
I can't trust anybody to work on my machines. Once again I learn that only I doo a good job on my cars. Everybody else is half assed and gets paid for it.

Hello !! Sorry to hear about your rims. I just recently had my original runflats replaced with Cooper SLE's 205/60. My tireman (son) was quick to discover tires were safest to be removed from backside of rim to avoid damage to rims, R83's. I would have to agree with at least of two of the responses you have had. First the shop doing the damage to the rims should pay to make everything right. If not you may find replacement of rims may be cheaper unless of course you are very fond of the factory rims
