TCE kits available in the UK?

Hi,

Following on from my previous spacer thread, I wanted to know if it was possible to buy TCE brake kits in the UK?

Todd, have you manged to look into using Minispeed as a distributor yet? How would I go about sourcing replacement parts in the future? (hopefully by then you will have a UK distributor).

For now, If I wanted to order a TCE brake kit, can I order using something like paypal or the equivalent because I don't personally use credit cards at all (making transactions abroad difficult)?

Also, what is the lead time on a kit? Can I realistically expect it in the UK within 2 weeks?

Thanks in advance,

Henry

Henry,

Yes I have contacted them, thanks too you.

On the other hand... the margins for them are not huge and considering shipping issues we may be at a 'stall' on how best to do this. While the margin is acceptable for arrangements here (such as Webb Motorsports) as the dealer simply sells the product and I do all the handling and drop ship it, doing this overseas my be a more difficult deal.

I ran some shipping costs via UPS and the cheapest was about $225 for me to do a 13" kit to the UK. Actually not all that bad as they handle customs and such for you. Duty or taxes not included of course. I've shipped via the US Postal Service and will no longer do so. Too many problems when the customer picks the least expensive service and the boat takes 6 weeks to get there....lost in custom there....etc. etc. Just not worth it.

The only way for a dealer to justify both the margins and shipping costs is to purchase in quantity and stock the items there. An expensive and speculative proposition. I doubt this will happen.

Payment for product from me can be via Paypal, phone or bank wire. I've done many of each with no problems. I now have product in some very obscure contries in fact!

The real issue here is shipping costs. I simply don't know of an "affordable" way to expedite this for folks. Check rates on shipping a 50lb box to me and see what the cost is, bet it is very close to the same. If you have a FedEx account you can put out a Call Tag on it and bill your own account which might save a few dollars. Other than that I don't have any further ideas as to how to help you on the shipping costs.

Appreciate your asking tho!

Supercoopers,

Do you know anyone coming to visit the US from your area?
Where do you live? Are there any NAM members making a trip to your area?

Too bad you could not coordinate someone traveling to pack the brake kit and bring it to you given the shipping costs.

Todd, how heavy would that be? Airlines don't like heavy stuff too much.

My 13" FSL kits run in the mid 40lb range.

Minihune,

I have given this some thought, but unfortunately I don't know anyone who is going to the states and then coming back to the UK anytime soon . Thanks for the thought though
