17" BBS RG-R centering ring question

I just got a set of 17" 4x100 38 offset BBS RG-R's from a friend. I didn't get any centering rings, or lugs...do I need either of them?

You can probably re-use the stock lugs, just make sure the tapering in the
wheel lug holes are the same as your lugs.

If the wheel sits on the center hub properly without any looseness
(you can tell right off the bat),
then the wheels are already hub-centric. I believe Alex sells RG-R's
over at the tirerack so you might be able to get a set from him if
needed.

I run the RGR's and they came with center rings. Also I run the factory lug bolts.

I'm just wodering what the pros are for running them with the rings on if everything seems fine without the rings.

Have you run your wheels with and without the rings?

see if you have any vibration problems..
Usually it's not recommended to run without the hub rings if they are of different size..

The rings are there so the wheel fit hub centric. The hub is what centers and locates the wheel not the lug bolts. The centering rings allow the wheel manufacturer to make a wheel that can be used in other applications. The RGR wheels are same fitment for some Hondas. I would get a set of correct ring. I had my wheels for ~ 2 years, BBS may have change the wheels and do not require the rings. I would check with BBS.

You make a good argument, and I will be calling BBS to find exactly which centering rings that I need.

Thanks again for lending me your expertise.
