Vibration with new tires and wheels
Just got installed new Fliks wasps with Falken tires from Edge Racing. I got metal hub centric rings instead of plastic ones that came with the wheels. After installing the wheels there was a noticeable vibration. So I took it to a local tire place (Terry's Tire Town here in NE Ohio) to have it rebalanced. After balancing vibration did not disappear although it's not as noticeable as it was before. Took it again to the same place they say that tires a perfectly balanced! Only thing they could find is that one of the tires has a hump in it and they have moved it to rear. So the question is what else can cause this vibration other than tire balancing?

With my original 17" S-lites I didn't had any vibration and it would be highly unlikely for brake rotors to warp right when I changed wheels, or not?
Wheels look awesome very similar to r90 and ride is much, much better with non runflat tires! Only thing left is to get "MINI" hubcaps... instead "FLIK".. Will take a pic when I get home.
.. and I'm in Canton

Do they have a hunter machine?
check http://www.gsp9700.com for a shop near you..
(I'm starting to sound like a Hunter sales person)
but they do wonders.
But maybe it's not wheel balance related.. I'd give it a couple hundred miles for the tires to break in.

What in the world do you mean by a "hump" in the tire ? If you have a defective tire, mounting it in a rear position certainly isn't going to improve anything. Before going through any extra fiddling around with all sorts of equipment find out what this "hump" is all about. Tires can be manufactured with defects just like anything else.

i have the same wheels and tires. I had the same issues when I first had the wheels and tires installed. However, initially I had the plastic hubcentric rings. I ordered a set of metal ones and the problem went away. What size are the rings that came with your wheels and tires?
Edit: when I first received the Fliks, they had the Falken Ziex 512s on them but I switched the Falkens to the S-lites for my winter set. Just trying to use the Pirellis. I had the Falkens on the Fliks for several thousand miles, though, and I understand your frustration.

Wheels came with plastic rings but I knew that they will not be as stable as metal. So I got a set from discount tire direct. Asked for a size 73.1x53.1 they mailed 73x53.15 and assured me that that there's no difference in performance. Now, when installing the wheels metal rings seemed to fit actually better than the plastic ones that came with the wheels!
btw - uploaded couple pics with wasps

i had a similar issue arise this past weekend with Flik Wasps as well ... EXCEPT ... that I had my wheels for over a year already.
Pulled all the wheels off this past weekend to clean them inside and after remounting them I started getting a steering wheel vibnration when doing around 50mph ...
Got the front 2 wheels rebalanced and it went away for about a day or so, but now it's back
have a service appointment next week at the dealer and will have them check the front end.
does your vibration happen at all speeds?

it happens
That's just what happens with aftermarket wheels. There's really nothing you can do....i have 18's and hubcentric rings and my wheels still have the "shake". It's just that the larger wheels have a larger rotating mass and normal cars just can't keep them from shaking. Every car pretty much has the "shake". (18's and up)

i have the plastic rings, but like I said all was fine for over a year, until this last weekend when I pulled off the wheels to clean them.
