Miata Minilites, will they work on a MINI?

being that Miata wheels are more plentiful and cheaper than MINI wheels, Im wondering if the spacing is right to fit a MINI?
I read where someone purchased a Miata spare off eBay to use on a MINI so I assume they might work.

also what sizes did Mazda offer? are they at least 15s? or smaller??

WDYT?

I hope Minihune weighs in on this one when the sun rises in Hawaii. I know MINI wheels fit several other Japanese cars (if you look on a wheel manufacturer's, not dealer's, website it often lists what cars can use what wheel--I was just at 5Zigen USA's site trolling for MINI-compatibles which have approximately 42 mm offset and a lug pattern of 100 as opposed to 114, but I don't know what those numbers mean). It's good to know the specs for one's car (although it is better to know what those specs mean--which I don't). One caution about wheels I have learned on NAM has to do with clearance versus brakes. If your MINI has optional performance brakes it might need wheels with more clearance. Otherwise a standard MCS could probably perform quite well with the 15" Cooper Holey wheel. NAM also has members who own both MINI and Miata (they seem compatible) who should be able provide you with insight.

Im prob going to try to grab a set of Holeys but figure if the Miata minilites would work its an ok option.

anybody got the answers for the tech questions?
size, off set and if they will work with MINI and clear the brakes?

what are your thoughts on using a Miata wheel on a mini??
is that tacky?

miatas have a smaller hub diameter, so their wheel won't fit a mini unless it's bored out... Everything else is compatible. 4x100 with 40-45mm offset.
But I've seen a miata with Mini wheels.

Correct. Miata hub bore is 54.1mm while MINI hub bore is 56.1mm.
So a MINI rim can fit a Miata (with centering ring) but a Miata rim cannot fit a MINI without reboring the hub to 56.1mm or larger.
See

Nice wheels.
15x7" +38mm offset

Tirerack has some wheels that are 15x7.5" with similar offset that are for the Miata (SSR Comp) that will fit the MINI but are not cheap.

For a similar look tirerack offers
ASA JH6 in 16x7" +42mm offset 18 pounds each for $169

or 17x7" +42mm offest 19 pounds each for $195
Centercap adapter fits OEM MINI centercaps!
Silver or chrome plated ($100 more each rim and a little heavier)

Due to the large size of the MINI OEM brake caliper, 15" rims are about as small as will fit. 14" Honda rims won't clear the MINI calipers.
