Replacement Tire Question (16's)

I've got a question regarding tires. I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with 205/50-R16 for size on my R83 5 Spokes. First question: Will that size fit? Second question: What brand would you recommend for a good high performance tire. It doesn't have to be good in snow, since it only hits low 40's high 30's for a week or two. It does have to be decent in rain though, since Houston gets a good share of rain. I was thinking either Toyo T-1R's or
Goodyear Eagle-F1 DS-G3s. I'm leaning more towards the Toyos for price, but the Goodyears are based off of a rain racing tire, so would meet my requirements.

What would you recommend?

I use 205/50/16 GS-D3's on my SSR's. They are great tires.

I forgot to mention that I plan on starting some Auto-X's and I will be doing at least 2 DE's a year, maybe some track time too if I'm lucky (and have money to burn).

S-03? Whats that?

Also, this is the order of importance:

1) Price
2) Grip
3) Weight
4) Close as possible to stock size or larger (I've got short enough gearing.)

How about a similar recommendation for a UHPAS type - I've got a set of Sport Edition Valore's in 16" that I'm looking to put some new tires on - I currently have some Blizzak's on them but I'm considering going to an all-season tire as we just don't seem to get Blizzak quality snow here in the St. Louis area any more. I'm also tired of the bone-jarring ride from the S-lite/Eurfori@ combination.

I'd like to consider the Avon's, but they don't appear to come in 205-50/16 which is what the Blizzaks are...

I put Toyo T-1R's 205/50/R16's on R-84 wheels. It's the best thing I've done for the Mini since the 15% pully. They stick like there on velcro. It did take awhile to get use to the softer side walls though. The run flats side walls where like I-beams.

OEM 17's have high enough offset to accomodate 215/45's
