new setup!

Hi,

just got my new wheel / tire setup installed this morning. 17'' Roja LT5 with Toyo Proxes T1R 205/45/17.

WOW!!!

i've only driven about 50 miles, but it's just amaizing!!! I took corners at speeds the 16'' Dunlop runflats would of screamed for mercy, and nothing, not one squeel. They just grip like crazy.

I would recommend this setup to anyone, and the ride is better too!! The only downside I can think of is having to carry a bottle of FIX-A-FLAT (10$) around.

if anyone is curious, the entire setup cost me 1700$ CDN tax / shipping / installation included.

I'll post pictures if I can find the time...

This does seem like $1700 worth of exhilirating improvement. I recall having read in a car magazine that wider wheels and tires would yield the single biggest gain in handling. Not sure if this is still applicable or just too much of a generalization to be practicable. Come to think of it I read that about 35 years ago, but it did work for my Mini (admittedly the only upgrade then was a set of Dunlop SPs on Minilites). Congratulations!

wohaa, i hope you let your tires break in before you went zipping
through the turns...well, too late now. some tires come with
a lot of release lube and can be very slippery until you break
them in.

(breaking them in = burn outs. j/k)
