15" SSR Comp Pics?

Hi all,

I'm planning on getting some SSR Comps for my car, and I'm thinking silver 15x7's. But before I make such a large purchase I'm trying to get a better idea of how they'll look on my car.

I have two concerns:

1) That 15" might look too small (I don't think this will be the case, because my brother's Cooper has the 15" holeys and I really like the look on the MINI).
2) Whether I should go with silver or anthracite. I like the look of anthracite wheels, but I also really like a shiny silver wheel, and I'm afraid anthracite will make my car feel too dark overall (it is Hyper Blue with black roof and checkered mirrors).

If anyone has any pics of 15" SSR Comps, or silver SSR Comps on a MINI, preferably 15" and silver, and preferably on an Indi Blue or Hyper Blue car, that would help me greatly in making my decision!

Thanks in advance!

-mike

I am also considering 15" SSR Comps and I found photos here: http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48638. The rims pictured are anthracite but don't look dark at all (and in general this is what I have seen in other photos of SSR Comps). The Toyo tires pictured have a bulging balloon look that I don't like. I like the 15" look in the OEM wheels and never noticed a bulbous look, so I attribute it to the Toyos.

I have to admit that I like the look of SSR Comps better in 16", but at 9.3 lbs in 15x7 or only 8.8 lbs in 15x6.5, a 15" size is very enticing. Please post pics if you go for it. I am still 2-3 months away before I could do it.

It's not a "real" picture, but if you go to Tirerack's website and look up wheels for a Mini Cooper, you can choose whatever color you want the pic of the car to be, and then choose different size and color SSR wheels, and you can get a good idea of what 15" and 16" SSR wheels will look like on a Mini.

Ken, your MINI looks great. It's got me convinced that silver would look great, which is what I was thinking.

And rkw, thanks for the link; it has me convinced that 15's may be a little too small for me. They look very small on that MINI. I may go for the 16's instead, despite the slightly higher weight. And I will be sure to post if/when I get some SSR's with some pics. In any event they will be on hyperbluemini.com if you miss my post.

Mineon, yeah I have tried Tirerack, but it really doesn't help a lot. First off, their silver SSR's don't look very silver in the picture, and aren't as bright and shiny as they would be in real life, so it's been hard to get an idea there. It also makes it difficult to really tell whether 15" is too small, whereas the photos of that silver MINI make it more clear just how it would look. That's mostly why I'm asking for real pics, but thanks for the suggestion!

The other 15x7 wheels I'm looking at are the Kosei K1 TS and the BBS RG-F. Both are only about a pound more than SSR Comp. The Kosei is much cheaper than SSR and the BBS more expensive. I have not found any pictures at all of the 15" Kosei on MINI, and only one set of distant photos of the BBS (see https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...0&ppuser=13836 and http://eurostyleseast.com/pages/projectmini.asp). If anyone knows of photos of either wheels in 15", please post.

rkw, I went ahead and got some 15x7's in anthracite from badassmini, who lives near me and was selling his set. They're phenomenal. I'll post some pictures when I get them.
