Changing to NON Runflats
Hi, being a new member and MCSa owner this may seem a silly question. But I assume changing to Non Runflats does not involve any change to the MCSa electonically, does it?
I mean that when you repressure the tyres the same process applies to pushing the button near the handbrake etc
All I assume you need is a compressor or something to offset not having Runflats.

Hi Nike61,
I just replaced my original run flats with a set of Goodyear F-1 tires. There is no adjustment needed. The benefits for me are a quieter, smoother ride and tons of grip. I will also carry a can of Fix-A-Flat with me !!
I hope you enjoy your new non run flats !!
Best Regards,

It really depends on exactly what you are coming from and going to. I went from stock slites and Pirelli runflats to Exel wheels and Yokohama ES100's. The weight went down 11 lbs. per corner, but the only thing that's noticeable is better grip right off the line. The ride, noise and grip otherwise is virtually identical. I got the Continental tire fix kit (goop and compressor) from tirerack for $80.

Changing to non run flats does not in anyway inhibit the operation of your tire sensor, that's what you are referring to yes?
The tire pressure sensor on the Mini is a good one but its not "sophisticated" all it does is measure the rotation of the tires and can sense when one tire has 1 or 1.5 pounds pressure less than the others. It can do this becasue the tire with the lower pressure has a smaller diameter than the other tires and therefore spins at a different rate. The sensor notices the difference in spin rates and it causes the light on your dash to light up. So it works with any tire and wheel combo
