disc brake warning light
#3
You go back to your local mechanic & have him determine which of four brake wear sensors triped the warning light. They fit a wire into the pads that when cut in two by the rotor activates the dash light. Dealer only item & all four are probably different. So, make sure he orders the right one. You will only need the one unless the light has been on for a while. I'm curious what they cost. they are about 2 ' long.

If MINI kept to standard BMW, then the left front and right rear wheels have the sensors. None on the other two wheels. Usually like a $10 part.
Did they change all four brakes or just fronts or just rear? If they changed only fronts or rears, then you will know which one was toasted.
A trick we used to do on BMWs, was to wire nut the two wires together (where it goes into the pad) to get the light to go out. When the pads wear down, it wears out a connector that "breaks" the connection and the light goes on. If you just remove the sensor, the light stays on.
