BF Goodrich g-Force Sports for $57
Well I needed tires and was in a money crunch so I gave up hopes of getting some S03's for my MC and got a set of the BF Goodrich g-Force Sports. They are listed on Tirerack for $57 and I was able to get Discount Tire to match that price. Total install was $349.00. Plus a $50 mail in rebate. So total price after rebate was $299.00 not bad. Not sure about the tires not too many reviews. Some liked some didn't. I think I saw that Alex@TireRack.com thought they broke too quickly in the rain. Probably lack silica like the S03's have. First impressions are much less noisy and much more smooth than the Dunlop runflats that were on the car before. Slightly less grip I think, jury stilll out on that. I opted for the 205/50-16's because that seemed to be the most popular size for my 5 star rims. As usual this site was a huge help in helping me make a decision.
Any opinions on these tires? Keep in mind the price, not fair to compare them to the S03's at $160 a tire. They are nearly three times the price.

Hi,
I'm new here, I just bought a black 2005 Cooper S convertible on eBay and I would like to get a set of wheels and tires installed on it before picking it up, I want GoodYear Eagle F1 GS-D3 but need help on sizes, my first choice is 225/45-17 on a 17x7.5" wheels, but before I buy something that will not fit, I thought I asked you guys here.
I know the 215 would fit but will a 225 work? if not can I use the 215 (24.6" dim) on front and 225 (24.9" diam) on the rear?
As for the wheels I'm looking at one is 17x7in. +40 mm offset, 5.57 backspace.
And the other ones are 17x7.5in. +38 mm offset.
What do you guy think or recommend?
The car is in Minneapolis and I live in Alberta Canada and getting the wheels in the US is a substantial saving but I need to act quick so they can be shipped and received before I pickup the car.
Thanks
Al

To answer your hi-jack of this thread - I run a 225/45/17 on a 40mm offset and there is some slight rubbing in the front under heavy cornering and in the rear under heavy load or over a large bump. It is not enough to prevent me from staying with this set up when I replace my tires.
Hope this helps.
