X-Lite question

okay, here's my stupid question of the day:

i've got a brand new 05 MCS w/the stock 16" X-Lite wheels.

where's the tool required to remove the hub cap covers??
or if no tool is secreted in the vehicle, how do i remove
the covers without beating up the white paint??

(i looked in the little tool bag w/ the jack and under the floor mat
by the battery compartment, but no tool)

There should be a little hookydoo bent wire device in the pouch with your tow hook and screw driver. If not, then see your dealer for a complete kit.

Yes, the "doo-hickey" is the tool. I refer to it as the handgrenade pin. It's in a syrofoam box jammed down beside the battery under the boot carpet. Your tow hook, screwdriver, and manual sunroof crank is also there. Cleverly, if you get the locking lug bolts from the dealership, the key is designed to fit in the one open spot of that box.

Like this? minus the explosive parts!- :impatient

A stiff bent wire would also work.

Of note, when autocrossing or driving on the track please remove that plastic hubcap cover.

My tool kit (003 MCS) was in little compartment next to left taillight. A velcro strap holds the kit in and the little wire puller has ring to put your finger in and a right angle prong which goes into the holes around the perimeter of the wheel center piece.
