Dan,
I bought a set of 18" x 7.5" ASA JS5s with Yoko Prada Spec2 215/35 18s from the Tire Rack. I love them... The next step (in my plan) is to install the H&R Sport Srping set that you folks carry. My question is: With the wheels and tires that I already have, will I experience any rubbing or clearence issues?

Thanks for the help, I have been singing the Tire Racks praises since I placed my order. What a pleasure...

Eric

Hey Eric.

What is the offset of those wheels?

With a lowered car using the H&R or KW springs, you will run into rubbing problems with a 40mm offset, and that was on 16s. I have a feeling you will need to have at least a 45mm offset, maybe 43mm, with 18s and springs.

Hope that helps!

Randy

the Js5's are 42 mm offset.

notpaddyhopkirk,
When you get those on you must take pictures. There aren't many 18s out there.

Dan,

Unfortunately the camber adjustment on the MINI isn't really adjustable, so you don't get much play there.

I already have roughly .5 - 1 degree negative in the rear, due to the springs, and the 40mm 16s still rubbed.

Hope that helps.

Randy

After lowering, I swear I've seen other posts that say no alignment is needed. Negative camber isn't really much of a concern, but will I still need to get it done? Thanks!

Actually I have had them on for a couple of weeks. I don't get any rubbing now but I was just wondering if anybody knew, Dan in particular, if the H&R springs would cause any rubbing with this combo.

I am not talking about loading the back up with bags of concrete, just under normal 1-2 person ocupancy use.

Thanks, any feedback is much appreciated.

Wow, the larger wheel size really emphasizes the smallness of the brake rotors. Looks cool, though

Indeed, my thoughts exactly.
It would be nice to find a kit that allowed the stock calipers but with larger crossdrilled discs to improve the look. Probably improve the braking too, if only becuase of increased leverage.

I am guessing that no one knows about this combo and the H&R springs.

If anyone has any info I would be glad to have it. Otherwise I am going to have to just experiment.
