Hankook Ventus Rs2 Z212 or Falken Azenis Rt615 or Toyo Proxes T1r
Anyone have any experience with any of these three products? Specifically in a road course or autocross context would be great.
I realize they are not true R Comps but Im looking to spend as little as possible on this set of rubber and they're all about $100-120 a piece.
Thanks!

I have a set of 205/50/15, 615's for my MCS and know a few people with or that had Z212's. If you need a 16" tire you will have to get the Z212's for now, as I think the 615's are not yet available in a 215/45/16. For autocrossing the 615's are considered the better choice, they won the GRM tire test, but I'd feel better about the Z212's for the street in the rain and they are much cheaper and available in two good 16" sizes, 215/45/16 and 205/50/16. If, as your picture suggests, you need a 17", the 615's are available in an excellent 215/40/17.

It all depends on what you are trying to achieve... Are you looking for a tire for dedicated wheels for motorsports? Or, are you looking for a dual-purpose tire to run street and motorsports?
The Azenis work well on the track from my experience... they also work well for autocrossing. The new RT-615 ain't bad on the street, either, and is much better in the wet than the RT-215 from my experience...
I don't know much about the Hankook. Prior observation of the T1S on the track shows they have a penchant for chunking due to their thin, ribbed design. I'd bet the T1R will perform well on the track, but will be subject to chunking.
If you want something a bit better and will have a set of dedicated wheels for motorsports, why not snag some Toyo RA-1's? Should be in about the same price range... They're a 2nd tier r-comp, but they stick well and last quite awhile. Many of our local autocrossers get an entire season out of a set, plus a couple of track weekends...

I just want something with a nice stiff sidewall that is communicative, turns in well, and has decent grip. I have OZ Superleggeras with a pretty aggressive offset. I don't think a 235 RA-1 will fit, and I have a hard time putting a dinky little 205 track tire on the car. I have a set of Dunlop Super Sport Race tires in the garage from my A4 but they're 225.45.17 and I don't think they'll fit without rubbing on the outside.
I selected the three tires above because they're available in 215 size. Certainly open to other suggestions that fit the profile I'm looking for though....

True, but the grip from r-comps will more than make up for the smaller size...
I see that you're looking for 17's?
IMHO, the Kumho MX is probably a better choice for the track than the Azenis... they come in 215/45R17. They seem to last longer on the track, and they do very well for autocrossing, too.
