Black MCS-Black or Anthracite Wheels?

I am ordering a 2006 Astro Black MCS in December, I want to change the
wheels to 17" black ASA AR-1 or to the FLIK WASP in anrhracite. Your
thoughts please. I think that the black AR-1 would be the better choice
but am open to all ideas.

I have the anthracite Wasps on my car and love them. That said, my car is yellow, not black. Personally, I think the only colours to go with on a black car are black or chrome (unless you are dechroming in which case just black).

I ordered a set of anthracite Wasps for my upcoming Royal Grey MCS, but I think I'd go with black wheels on your black car.

one idea would be to consider bronze wheels, they look nice on a black car...

Black ASA'S.... The black and polished lip is outstanding on a black car, imho.. All black without the polished lip seems to make the whole wheel dissappear into the tire, to my eye. My current ride while my Mini is being built is a jet black 528i Touring with those same wheels.

I'm very tempted to these same style wheels on the ChiliRed/White S I've on order just so its more distinctive and replace the grills with JWC black ones. Only chrome the will be the polished lip on the wheels. Any thoughts?

BTW... can you get 'Mini' caps to fit those wheels?

•* AFAIK, none of the OEM MINI caps fit right into the ASA AR1's. There is a vendor who makes a nice decal to put on the center cap.

•*For me, black rims are almost too much on any car, and granted, i know a lot of folks feel different on this one!. I prefer either the anthracite or dark bronze rims. The solid black makes the rims look "missing". The slight contrast of the other colors helps to define the wheel.

FWIW, i plan to use a set of bronze Rota C8's on my PS MCS. I wish they made the AR1's in anthracite in 16"!

YMMV!

I love black wheels with polished lips.
Too bad they don't look so great on my dark silver with white top.
