Got the G-Force Sports in the 215/45R17 on my MCS and love 'em. They have been on for 14k miles and have handled very well. I drive fairly aggressive when given the opportunity and have been pleased w/ the traction and feedback they give. The other great thing is the price! For $100 you get a great value. The GoodYears are nice tires too. If you want real grippy, get the Falken 615's. They should be available now in the 215/45R17 size. Tires are fun aren't they!!!!!!

Later

p.s. my Sports still look real good even after 14k miles and modded suspension.

bridgestone potentenza so3s are also good stuff...but they're likely ~$170 per tire at that size.

if you can get the gs-d3s at that size at $99 per, that's a definite deal.

personally, i have the so3s, but in 205/55/15. and they're excellent.

the kdw2s are supposed to be good also, but noisier.

the pilot sport2s are expensive, kinda like the so3s.

check out tirerack's tire reviews. i asked alex about the g-force sport, and i believe he said he didn't really know enuff about 'em.

for myself, the next tires i plan to get are so3s, gs-d3s or kdw2s, depending on $$.

I have since tested these - what would you like to know?

Check out the Kumho MX.

I just put them on my 93 RX7 and they are pretty sweet. A few of my RX7 buds are using them on street and track and swear by them. After driving on them a few days, I can see why. Even though I'm a Toyo fan, I think the MXs are a bit more responsive than the T1Rs.

They probably suck in the snow like my old Toyos used to so I hope you're not looking for all-season drivability. None of the tires posted would work well in the snow.

As for mixing tires, it's not the best thing one can do b/c it alone would not cause an accident such as the one in the link.

Cheers.
