Stud Conversion kit (help!)...

Hi all, Ive got some outmotoring studs for the quick wheel changes. Seeing as Ive never had these on a car before, I just put them on tightly then did a little test drive. After this test drive, I removed the wheel and I noticed some of the studs were loose yet some were tight.
If there is anybody reading this who has done this conversion, could you please let me know how you secured the studs into the rotor? Did you use loctite (which one?) to keep them tight.
Just dont want my wheels to pop off, any help is great

Cheers

If I recall you MUST use RED Locktite on them. Supposed to wait 24 hours before torking down wheels or something like that.

I used red loctite with mine. I put locktite on the threads of the stud, installed it into the rotor, tightening firmly with an allen wrench. I let it dry for an hour probably and then torqued the lug nuts onto the wheel

Studs that are fastened to the rotor with locktite can still come loose over time or with frequent wheel changes.

Also you can sometimes crossthread an open nut on a stud (usually done in haste) and lock the nut on the stud so the stud will work loose while trying to remove the nut.

This means a few extra studs and nuts are not a bad idea, saves you the hassle and shipping if it ever does happen.

Make sure your stud length is correct for your wheel with longer studs needed for using spacers. Closed nuts need to be used only with studs that are not too long or you can over tighten and damage the ends of the acorn nuts.
