You will need hubcentric rings. If you haven't ordered those yet, Call Discount Tire Direct and tell them you want metal hubcentric rings for 15" konig wheels on a MINI (56.1mm centerbore)

Dave, and all, the decision was made very easily.
I took your advice on good win racing and the discounttiredirect reference.
Tires (205/55-15) and hub rings (73/56.1) = $331.00 (free shipping)
silver rewinds + caps = $459.48 (includes shipping)
Definitely more than i originally planned but hopefully well worth it. thanks for everyone's input. Much obliged...

I got the wheels yesterday and got the tires installed today --- jusr waiting for the hubcentric rings and I'm set. I went with 205/55/15 Toyo Proxes4 tires for a little cushier ride than the 50s. The size is almost exactly the same as stock so no speedo isses. I can't wait to get them on my car! I'm going to have a Hamman yard sale soon!

I just went to the dealer and bought a set of MINI hub centers.
They are part number: 36-13-6-758-687 and cost anywhere from $1.85 to $5.00 each depending on your dealer.
They fit right over the Konig logo and look the business. Do not try to take the Konig logo off first because these are about 0.5 mm too large to fit in the recess if you do. Just stick them over the top - they come with their own adhesive.

Konig Rewinds anyone?
I just picked up my 03 S last week and am ready to change out the wheels and tires. They are the standard run flats with some type of OZ custom wheel. I have seen a few posts on this forum about the Konig Rewinds and absolutely love the look. I think they provide a very classic look - IMHO. Found a local dealer who carries them. I was surprised at how inexpensive they were - under $100 each. I need to put together a wheel/tire package and am looking for recommendations. Also, if anyone has the Rewinds and have pics I would love to see them - or give me feedback on how you like them. Thanks.

OMG, I had the alignment done at Clark's House of Suspension in Lake Forest and, combined with the 15's, my MINI is as comfortable to drive as my Jetta! And the handling has not suffered as far as I can tell - I took it over the Ortegas last weekend
I am going on a road trip up to Northern California, Oregon, and Washington, so I am very happy that my dental fillings won't rattle out somewhere along the way!
