ALT's "BBS LM" wheel...

I was almost sure this wheel did not come in a 4x100 bolt pattern, yet here is an auction on ebay advertising the wheel in a number of offsets and bolt patterns, including the 4x100, and saying it fits a "civic".

I would dismiss this as "ebay horsecrap", but I am interested if it is true, because I like the BBS LMs, but would much rather have a roof over my head. These are much more affordible and have a great LM look with the lip.

Opinions, anyone? I did email the seller just before writing this and I wiil keep this updated with any response.

If anyone else can tell me how to get LMs without donating both my kidneys, let me know.

-Steve

I talked with a guy at ALT and he said these wheels were made with a 4x100 bolt pattern at one time, but they are not being produced any longer. The guy selling them on ebay bought the majority of the rest of the stock from ALT and the ALT rep doesn't think he has any 4x100 ones. I sent him a question and called and left a message, plus I searched the whole internet for a few hours (I have nothing to do at work this week!) and I didn't find anything. Can't I just change my hubs to make my car a 5x100?!?!?!? It sure would make it easier to find wheels. Are the 2007 MINIs going to be 4x100, too? Seems like a good place to make a change.

More to come, hopefully.

Unhappy ending...

I got a call back from the seller saying he DID have one set of 4x100 ALT Tangent wheels in 17in, I freaked out, started checking credit card balances looking to pick them up, then I get a call back one hour later from the guy saying, "oops, they were 5x100, sorry!" and I almost threw my phone out the window. These people are crazy.

So,

If you want BBS LM style wheels, you need to find someone who speaks Japanese, and pay $700 each, if you're lucky.

Why? 4x100 is probably one of the most widly used aftermarket wheel sizes simply because every honda has that size. i think we just need to make them all ford/dodge size 5 lugs. you would NEVER have a problem finding wheels for them then.

Yea, well there are still more options at a 5x100 pattern.... more aggresive applications... not so much fluff...

Last time I checked with my buddy at BBS he had a set of BBS LM's in stock (in the United States) 4x100 -- 17"

He said to contact the following places to locate them www.tires-n-parts.com in Raleigh NC and www.gmpperformance.com in Charlotte NC. All have great people and websites.

Good luck if you want the real thing.. Worth ever penny if you have that many penny's !!!

It seems the BBS LMs aren't as hard to find as I thought! This guy has two sets, too:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...3ARTQ%3AUS%3A1

If I buy one wheel per year, I may be able to put these on before I'm 30!

Eighty-thousand pennies each.

Wow, I told the guy at BBS that the LM's would be a good wheel to get again. It seems that he has listened and there are a few pairs in the US now..

That Ebay auction is way overpriced. You should be able to get them in the $650 -$700 range per wheel.. They are still cheaper the HRE

I love the LMs. I had them on my other ride.

But running the Magnesium race wheels now.

Are those EBAY BBS LM the real deal? The price is $800 for what? one wheel? or a whole set? I doubt its for a whole set but if its a knock off then it may make sense.

They are per rim and the real deal, at least looks like that.
