Anyone running 215/50/16 on their stock X lites?

I am goign to order some tires soon. I'm thinking 215/50/16 Dunlop Direza DZ101. These seem to be VERY close to the stock 195/55/16 rolling diameter size.

195/55R16 vs 215/50R16 Difference = 0.0805% (215/50R16 is bigger)

I'm not lowered, and do not plan on lowering it. Dunlop says that this tire can fit on a 5.5-7.5" wide wheel. Is anyone out there running this size tire on their stock 16" wheels?

Thanks!
Steve

If you have a 2004 or earlier MCS, you may not want to increase your rolling diameter. While there is nothing technically wrong with doing this (other than a minor speedo error), most folks will seek a slightly smaller rolling diameter than stock to compensate for the rather tall first gear ratio present in pre-2005 transmissions.

FWIW,

Theo

For sporty street driving, try Falken 215-45x16 Azenia. Fat and a little smaller rolling radius. Very sticky I have them and like them a lot. I'm in SoCal so wet weather not a problem most of the time. Just drive slower in the wet.

yes, i am, little over 12,000 miles on them. they are decently grippy tires once they heat up. they have a huge rim guard. like 1/2 inch... saved me a couple times. plus they look pretty sweet.

I am not using a 215/50/16 at this time, I am running the stock 16's, but when I need tires, if staying with the 16's, that is the size I would use. BFG's Dunlops or Avons all get good reviews from other NAM members as well. It would be my first choice, my second choice is 205/50/16, lots of options there as well.

Keeping the odometer/speedometer accurate (close to stock) is important to me and 215/50/16 does just that. For all practial purposes the difference between 195/55 and 215/50 is 3/4 inch wider, all the other dimentions are so close that it's not even worth mentioning. A good web site for tire comparison is: http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...foTireMath.jsp

Hope this helps...

i;m running the Direza DZ101, in the 215/50/16.... word of warning the rears will rub if u load the car up and have lots of weight in the back. ie luggage for 3 and those 3 people in the car. look in my gallery and you can see them on my white x-lites.

day96, that's great! I never have 3 people in my car. just me, wife, and dog.

are you rubbing on the inside, or outside?

Also, do you have any more pictures? I only see the one in your gallery.

awesome that's exactly what I'm looking for. If you are alone in the car, and cornering hard, do you rub at all?

no not at all. it;s basicly only with lots of extra weight weighing the back down, and i drive with 30 pounds extra in the rear normally with no rubbing.
