Rossii,
I honestly dont know but can ask them. My guess is that they will say that will depend on the offset that we specify for the wheel in order to make it concave like that. Plus the BMW's are able to run 9" wide wheels, that is not even possible on the MINI. It comes down to what is capable on the car not always what we wish we could do unfortunatley. DANG!

I don't have a Mini yet, but will soon enough (pending the wait after the special order purchase!).

Others have covered it, but if this wheel can be the same in appearance as the ZCP/CSL style wheels, I'd DEFINITELY purchase the wheels. Keeping in mind that the M3 wheels are also staggered. So the wheels are more flat up front and concave in the rear. We probably wouldn't have a staggered setup, but if the spokes can go flush with the outer lip and have a concave appearance, I would love to have these wheels. I would want to see pics before any purchase.

I guess that would put me in the "thinking about it" list

I think the concave look will be only as deep as (the most) the look of the front wheel of the Competition pkg for MINI setup. If you go with 18x7.5, I am not sure you can have offset less than +40 without any rubbing (my guess), of course depend on what tire width you put on.

Hey guys,
Thought you might like to know that Peter from Velocity Motoring, has now joined the boards and will be able to answer any questions that you have directly. He is a great guy and I think we should all give him props. He said that the 18" wheel will have the concave shape to it even though it is a different offset than the BMW ones. He shoudl be able to answer anything you have.
Thanks

I thought I'd dig up a few more pics of the 18's. The 2 or 3 mm difference shouldn't make a visual difference of the concave look. The red 325/8/30 has what should be, the 18x8.5"-ers with the 40mm offset on it. Although there would be an inch difference in width, the offset would be very close and shouldn't effect the look to much at all.... if any.

Enjoy!

Hey Typer139,
Thanks for those pics. Those sure would look sick on a MINI. Now just o get some more people or vendors to buy in. I thought for sure that this wheel would sell itself.

So if everyone converted to sold then this would be a total of 14, now only 6 people left to join. Why do I feel that I am the only cheerleader for this Group Buy.

I bet the majority of "thinking about it" myself included would convert to "Yes" if we had an actual MINI wheel to look at. Right now everyone is just guessing and wishing about what it will look like.

Well Peter from Velocity Motoring should be able to produce that picture soon, however like I stated earlier he said there would be no difference in the look of the wheel other than the overall width. But you can hear it from him if you would like, or email him directly at velocitymotoring@yahoo.com
Thanks guys.

RAW_MCS that was awesome, I nearly brought out my pom poms...did I just say that?

The size shoudl not be an issue, it is the tooling of the machine to make the wheel in a 4x100 pattern. But I think you are saved Joker. It shoudl be available in 18x8.5, 18x7.5, and 17.7.5. But honestly can you fit an 8.5 inch wheel on the mini without some serious rubbing? Have you had experience with the 8.5" already that we could know about? Thanks

The concave look is what's going to sell. You're not giong to get a lot a people to commit until a real picture is produced on a real Mini. If I saw a real picture I'd be cheering right along with you!

you cant get the concave look on the mini...especially in 18s or 17s since they need even higher ETs then the 15s...

That may be so, but I'd rather take Peter's word on it if he takes a look at this thread

Here is an email that I got from Peter last night, this is a true vendor willign to step up to the plate.

My forum name is Velocitymotoring. However I caution that I will not be able to followup with the thread on a daily basis. Our factory indicated that it will be a little more complicated to get the 18x8.5" wheel modified to fit with the Mini, but don't worry about that, any extra cost will be absorbed by us.

Thanks guys just want to keep you updated.
Thanks

Robb

Hey all,
Trying to keep everyone in the loop, this is a post that Peter tried to post here on NAM but is having some difficulties doing so.

Hi.. Thank you for welcoming me to your forum. I'll be glad to answer any
