nail in tire!
Hello
I have 175/65 contis on my MCC 05. was thinking of getting new wheels a few months in the future, but not now - so i was rotating my tires to get a few more miles out of them (rear tires looked brand new, front ones almost down to tread wear indicators!)
I noticed a nail in one of the rear tires, so i put them all back where they were. Didn't want to bring a wheel with a nail up front where it would get more exposure.
my question: What sizes, other than 175/65 can i use? 175/65s seem to be few in numbers. What is a good all-year tire? my current ones (nail aside) sort of suck in the snow. badly. I am looking for a nice all-year tire that is comfortable and stable. no need to race or climb rocks.
I'm going to mavis tomorrow morning, i'd really appreciate any info before then.
thanks!

You can look it up on line at the Tire Rack - usually you go up in Thread width 10 and down in % cross section
205/55 = 205 Cm wide & a tire wall height of 55% that ( 205 ) ....
so -
175 - 65
185 - 55
195 - 45
this is just general rule stuff to *try* and keep the circumference of the tire the same ... the other question is how wide a tire can you put on that rim ?
Check out this like for tire size calculation as well
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
Then again after looking at the link i gave you it might look more like -
175 - 65
185 - 60
195 - 55
205 - 50
????
The internet - everytones an *expert* - X being the unknown Quantity and Spurt being a leak under pressure...
