Thinking about powder coating the stock'rs

I am thinking about powder coating our stock wheels. I was woundering the pros and/or cons to this idea. Anyone who has done this before, how do you like them and how are they holding up?

Thanks
Rick

If you go to a quality Powder Cating shop you should have no issues . I had my Hamman's done almost 35, 000 miles ago with no issues.

Several people in the Dallas MINI club (metroplexmini.org) have had their stock wheels powder coated with no problems. All the wheels seem to be holding up nicely. I've seen S-Lites, R-90s and at least one other kind that have been coated. We don't get salt down here but we do get high temps and all the normal grit and grime.

$45/wheel seems to be the going rate. Most of the folks here had the work done at Herring's http://www.herringpowdercoating.com

Gary, I checked out your club's page. Some good information.

Thanks for getting back to me. I think next week I will start looking for a shop. I called a few of my motorcycle buddies they are going to ask around also.

When I get it done I will psot some pics.

I also joined your club and asked aquestion...thanks for the link.

Thanks
Rick

Yeah, it's a good group of people. Hardly any stalkers and such. Many of us who are active on the Metroplex MINI site hang out here as well because there's such a good community here too.

Looking forward to seeing how your wheels turn out - I love the different looks people create on their MINIs.

Not the best shot, but here's a yellow S with yellow powder coated S-Lites:
