i didn't have time to eat breakfast... so was out of creative juice. :impatient
then one starts talking about white wall on a MCS and now im trying to
image wat my pop's Old's tires looked like back in the early 80's and
trying to mentally photochop it onto a MCS...
then i remembered the '98 having some soft roof, like a faux convertible
and some spoke hubcaps... then i remembered this fat lady saying how
nice the 98 looked and then it all started to fog up my head and
could not think of anything creative to say. :impatient

thanks
I searched, but didn't pull up any results, thanks for the link to the pics!
Seeing it now it's definitely not bad, especially with a white top MINI. I think the key would just be finding the right wheels to go with it.
Ragedmx has a good point about the performance tires with white lettering, that might give me the pizazz I'm looking for and still look contemporary.
Well, I'm off to Tirerack to see if they have any. If anyone finds any whitewall/wheel combos they like let me know. Is there a technical reason for the cars in the pics having the wheels they do?

dont imagine the witewalls from the 80s, those are more like white strip (literally). Go with some coker whitewall radials, be warned tho, they are not going to be sport tires in any way! They at least have 3 inches of white on them, some kid once told me he was putting white walls on his s10, when he finally got them, i laughed at them ,he got mad, but it was a natural response, i then showed him what whitewalls were supposed to look like! ( i have 3 1/4 inch whites on my 1940 ford coupe). I wanted to get 650/16 tires just so i could have 4inches of white going around, but they looked just to big. (havnt seen the pics that were in te other link, my internet is too slow to download them, i will look at a friends house later).

oh, or you could go real old skool and put bias ply whites on (which my 40 has). That way if you get tired of steering, just let go of the wheel and let the ruts in the road steer for you!! Dont think you would get bias plys to fit in our wheel well tho, or ones that are wide enough to fit our rims, my rims are only 4 inches wide on the 40, hahah.

sandtoast... I abhor Porta-Walls.
On my old Karmann Ghia, I had true whitewalls for a long time, until I lost one of the wheels. It was hard to replace the originals, so I opted for new tires with Portas instead of buying and shipping a new set of real whitewall tires. I regretted it within a few months. They don't sit very well, eventually start to peel up from the tire at the outermost points, and eventually shear off. Ugh. Not for daily driving.
