okay NAMers, need wheel advice
I know it comes down to personal opinion, but I'm very bad at making these decisions when I have the money in hand. I'm looking to buy wheels now that I've lowered my car. I'd like to spend no more than 1000 dollars for wheels and tires. Whatever I buy, I'm also buying spacers, a stud conversion kit and the hubcentric rings, but I'm not counting that in the total.
Here are the wheels that I like, what do you folks think of these, and any other suggestions for what you guys feel would look good on this:
I like these:
konig traffics
sorta like above:
buddy club p1 wheels
rota subzeros (in white or silver or steel grey maybe?):
I like these,
I also like styles such as the ASA AR1's, etc
Almost positive I want to go with 16s, not too big, not too small, most are lightweight...so that's mostly what I want. Suggestions?

Personally I like all your options, but on your car I'd definitely go with white wheels. So... I'd go with any of your first 3 choices. My personal choice being the Konig Traffic's for your car. It looks as if though the Buddy Club wheels have a stepped lip which I could do without. Go with your personal favorite, they are all nice wheels. Good Luck and post pics!

Dear agile - The only "advice" I can offer, two things:
> as one who has three times scuffed his rim lips on curbs, if it is aesthetically reasonable in your view, get a design that incorporates a "polished lip," meaning that the portion that is most exposed to scuffs is not painted, but rather, clear coated. If -- no, WHEN -- you make a mistake it is less visible until fixed, and considerably easier to repair with NO color matching to do.
> reduce weight. For the street, granted, it is not all THAT critical. However, I found a remarkable difference -- in butt dyno, at least -- going from S-"lytes" and run-flats to the SSRs and Dunlops I have still. I did no other mods at the time other than brake rotors, pads and caliper bushings, and I swear that handling and performance both really improved.
I haven't read the whole thread, so sorry if this repeats, but the other thing is that TireRack's web site has a GREAT feature that allows you to view any wheel they sell on your Mini in "profile" view. Worth your taking a look if you haven't already.

buddy club wheels are 649 with free shipping for 16s, well within my range. The konigs do look really good.

Only reason I want to stay away from a polished lip is because I'm not sure that gunmetal or black or the other colors that typically use a polished lip will look very good against an eb/w cooper. And as far as weight, that's what I'm looking to shed some pounds with. All of these wheels shown are relatively light weight.

The white rims would look the best on your car but the rotas I think only weigh 14pounds
I would go with the rotas because I own a dark silver
go on ebay they have the nice rims for $600
just type mini cooper you will find some nice replicas
good luck make sure you wax your rims when you get them
(before you put them on the car)

the konigs I would be getting through a friend of mine, they're the only 17s I think I'm interested in. I'm using Eibach coilovers right now, also about to order a rear sway bar and lower control arms
The more I look at the rotas, I thing the darker color wheel looks pretty good. am I crazy?

I like the Rotas. On your blue/white car, though, I think silver or white wheels may look better. If you would like a five-spoke version of the buddies, you might check out Gram Lights 57C (Gram lights also come in a six spoke version). Tirerack has them in their Mini configurator. I am very happy with my 16" 57C's. They are big brake friendly.
