Lowering really makes a HUGE difference in the look of the car. i doc your car looks great! What springs did you use to lower the car and how much did it lower it? Also, do you have any pics that show the alignment of the rims/tires with the fenders? Would you say the rims/tires are flush with the fender or inside the fender?

Here are some more of idoc's wheels and tires. The width looks good IMHO.

Looks to me as if though the wheels/tires are almost flush with the fenders. But still slightly inside. The width looks good to me. The extra inch is worth it IMO.

Firstly thanks to minichik for doing my latest pics. I lowered the car with koni fsd's and h-sport springs. I think the car lowered about an inch. I would say the tires are about even with the fender maybe just a hare inside. The tires do not rub at all but sometimes the front skirt hits the pavement when going down too steep of a driveway. All in all I am happy with the arrangement.

Awesome looking car!

Are the new springs stiffer?

During hard driving, Is there any "rear tire" rubbing at the 2 O'clock area inside plastic trim?

Mine used to do a little with two people and "rally style" bounces.

The new springs are definately not stiffer, and I haven't heard any rubbing but I will check tonight and see if I see anything in the wheel well.

I ran 225/35-18 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 when I had the MINI. The wheels were 18x8 JLine SDMSL2

some pics:

I just recently put on ADR M-Sport 18 x 7.5 (they seem to be much wider though, like around 8") with Nitto 225/35/18 tires. The offset is 43 and I have no rubbing at all with stock supension on a 2005 Cooper S w/ sport suspension. The ride isn't that bad and the steering response is increadible, and the looks really, really good.
