wheel spacers and lugs

I would like to push my stock holies out a bit.

I want to add spacers:

but I don't know what size to go with. Mini Madness offers them in 5mm, with which I probably wouldn't have to do a lug conversion, 8mm which will probably look and fit the best, and 15mm which would almost definitely need a lug conversion.

My question is: Would I need to do a lug conversion if I went with the 8mm spacers? I don't want to go 15mm, too much, and 5mm seems to be not enough. If I'm doing it I may as well do it and go 8mm.

Then: With lug conversions, Helix13's is only $50 (good) but does it retain the stock length or add some so it will work safely with the spacers?

Or I should do the madness kit which is $150 (pricey) But is available in two different lengths, 3in or 3.5in.

I would appreciate anyone with knowledge about this to chime in!
Thanks!

-Steve

From what i've read here on NAM, and discussions with other members, you would need longer lug bolts/studs with any spacer that has some width to it.

stock holies, 15x5.5, et ? (prob 45-48), and stock conti all seasons, 175/um55 or 60?/r15. . .

Ideally I would like to do 8mm spacers with no lug kit, or, if I have to, the Helix kit. It's hard to justify spending 3 times as much for the other kit, even if the lugnuts are BBS. . .
