My rims were stolen - Looking for new ones
So my rims got stolen Thursday, in broad daylight at my work parking lot.
Now I'm looking into new ones, I loved my old ones, Rota Sub Zero but I'm open to suggestions for new ones. I was thinking of painting my old ones black with a red stripe around the edge. I still have that thought but I've also started to drift towards R-Compound tires, Toyo Proxes R888. I'd love to hear what you guys think of using R-Compound for daily driving.
I'm thinking of buying some 17" Rota Sub Zero's painted black/red or something like bright orange for a race look and remove my checkered roof, but I don't know yet. I still love the look I had so I might go for the same look, just don't know. 18" R-Compounds are expensive, and I have coilovers so as long as the drop is nice 17" flows well on the MINI.
So as I said, I'm open for suggestions, my budget isn't too big, if it was I'd go for a custom wheel, I know my rims.

dang.. .i better keep an eye out on mine too..... if i were you you might want to take a gander around local forums see if your wheels turn up... or better yet, ebay.... you might just find it there...
as for suggestions of wheels, i think the subzeros worked wonders on your car... you can always go back to the same look, but pay 4 times more for the real racing harts!

I bought these hoping they'd be a better solution than the typical 3+1 setup:

Hey Mario,
I'm so sorry to hear about your rims.. It still amazes me that people steal wheels.. especially in broad daylight!!
I'll probably be picking up a set of these in the next couple months... (considering the lights too) I believe their in the 21-22lb range and a little on the pricey side at $18 hunnies..

Seriously though, is there an effective deterrent besides choice of parking location? Would a car alarm work? Would this trigger the OEM alarm?
