Winter Tire/Wheel Questions...

I am starting to research a winter wheel/tire package for my 06' MCS.

I currently have 17" webspokes wheels with Dunlop 205/45 R17 Performance run flats. I was playing around on Tirerack.com and considering going to 15X6.5 wheel with 195/60 R15 Michelin X-Ice winter tires.

Any thoughts about this switch?
The Tire calulator says the speed compensation between the two is about dead on meaning that the speedo will stay accurate

Which is a better winter tire?
The Michelin X-Ice or the Bridgestone Blizzak REVO 1. They are about the same cost.

Is 195/60/R15 a decent tire size for improved Winter driving? Has to be better than the 17" right?

What is 'Necessary wheel installation hardware'?
Tirerack reports that the 'Necessary wheel installation hardware included at no additional charge.'

Any additional thoughts or feedback is welcome.
Thanks-
-Randy

195/60R15's should be just fine for winter use, and as mentioned they are so close to the OEM 17" size - 1.3mm difference only!
I run 185/60R15's for winter on my Cooper and no worries.
The installation hardware will be hub centering rings and lug bolts, as well as installed wheel weights.
The REVO 1 has a more "performance" angle to it than the X-Ice, and I suspect perhaps a higher speed rating as well.
How fast are you gonna drive in winter?

That size combo should work fine, but keep in mind a narrower tire will work better in snow. I'd suggest a 185-65-15. I have no experience with either of those tires, but I've had a couple of sets of Blizzak WS50's & they were just great.

I'll second the 185/65R15's. With the Blizzaks they are a little squirmy on the dry pavement, but they have really done well in the snow and slush for two winters.
