Any Issues Running 215/35R18 on an '04 MCS?
I'm interested in going to a 215/35R18 on 18" x 7.5" wheels for my '04 MCS. I understand that it's the Plus One upgrade and set-up that TireRack recommends. Can anyone comment on ride, turn-in crispness, etc.? I'm looking for both positive and negative attributes. I've at least read that there's no rubbing with the 215 wide tire. And has anyone had any denting of the wheel issues with such a short sidewall? Seems like one good nailing of a pothole at a decent rate of speed and you've got a wheel that'll be out-of-round.
Also, I noticed that the Kazera KZ-A wheels at an offset of 38mm. Is that the exact/correct offset for an '04 MCS?
Many thanks.

215/35-18 is similar in ride quality to 215/40-17. Alot depends on which tire you choose.
Tirerack.com has a few good choices in 215/35-18
Avon Tech M500 $119 each 280 treadwear AA traction 22 pounds each
BF Goodrich g-Force Sport $117 special price 340 treadwear AA traction 20 pounds each
BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW2 $157 each 300 treadwear AA traction 26 pounds 23.9" tire diameter
Of note-
The KDW2 (and the Sport) also come in
215/40-18 ($134) and 225/35-18 ($175) which may also fit both your 18x7.5" rim and your suspension- just check with Alex@tirerack.com since outer tire diameter is just a bit larger than stock at 24.7" and 24.3" respectively.
Weight is 23 and 22 pounds.
Cornering with lower sidewalls is stiff and responsive but harsh on all but smooth roads. 40 series would be more forgiving and easier to live with for daily driving or if your roads are poor. If you have lots of potholes then drive slower. Anytime you have 35 or 40 series tires you will either live with wheel damage or live with some careful driving.
Anyway try giving Alex a call to learn more about each tire and sizing.
These are ultra high performance summer tires- not for any snow but great for dry or wet weather.
