Spare tire possible in MCS?
I drive a lot and many times hundreds of miles from home through the desert. I would like to add a very small light weight spare tire.
Yesterday I removed my passenger side muffler to go to a one ball exhaust. I was noticing that I now have extra space for maybe a small spare to fit where the old muffler used to be. Does anyone think this is possible or know of someone that has done it?
thank you
Mario

Totally forgot about that, but the Cooper spare is offset to the drivers side. I don't know if it's offset enough to clear the bat box or not.
Just go with Yucca's idea, and get a donut for in the the boot.

One consideraton about locating a spare tire on the car's underside: you may need to jack it high to remove it. Not bad altogether, but can be a pain when the spare that is needed is against the ground. I'm not implying you shouldn't do it, only passing on an experience with a pickup truck. Forewarned is Forearmed.

Getting the donut rim and adding the tire is the least expensive way to go.
Keep a spare large garbage bag handy as well for the flat tire to go into if ever needed and toss that in the boot area after changing the flat. Old tires can be rather dirty. Having some vinyl gloves for the flat change is nice.
