Miata wheels on an MCS?

don't know for sure, but I bought a set of kosei's from a miata owner and the included hub rings would not fit on my MCS, seemed like it was just 1mm off, but just couldn't fit on. ordered a set specifically for the MINI and it worked perfect. give it a try who knows

Thanks for the response. I don't know what the offset is, but it looks to be in the 35 to 40 mm range. I'll probably try to put one wheel on to see if it fits.
This isn't the wheel/tire combo that I eventually want on my MCS (I presently have the stock 16s), but since I plan on replacing the wheels/tires on my monster Miata with 15x8 wheels with 225/45-15 Hankook R-S2s, I thought I'd give them a try. I wonder if the 15x8 wheels (40 offset) and Hankook R-S2 combo would fit on my MCS.....

Actually the offset of most stock Miata wheels is 45mm, very close to the Mini stock offset. Some people do use numerically lower offset wheels on Miata though, but unless the Mini is lowered, the wheels should fit the Mini if they fit the Miata. As mentioned before the hub bore is slightly smaller on the Miata, so just remove the hubcentric rings to mount the wheels on the Mini. I switch several of my wheels back and forth between my Mini and my Miata.

Well, I mounted one of my Miata's wheels on my MCS.....and it fits. My Miata doesn't have hubcenric rings.
The first thing I noticed was the wheel stuck out quite far. I checked the inside of the wheel for any numbers, and found the offset; 30mm. No wonder the wheel stuck out so far. Oh well, it was worth a try.

Why would the wheel width be a problem? Those are probably 7" or 7.5" wide, and many people run a wheel that is that wide or wider without problems. The offset isn't ideal at 30mm, but the wheel width isn't a problem.

^^ i think tit meant if offset is aggressive, the width might be a problem.
like 35offset and 7" might not (probably not) work without some
dremeling if running the popular 215/45/17 size.
mineon- even if the stock offset if +45 on the miata's, they look super
tucked in (worse than corollas) so 35-38 would probably be the norm
for aftermarket wheels for them(?)...

I guess it all depends what you think looks good. I've had wheel/tire combinations (wider tires and wheels than stock with lower offset) on some cars that were pushed all the way out to the edges of the fenders and I thought they looked good and I got lots of compliments. To each his own I guess.

The rear has been cut a little....but nothing big.

I put my 15" Flik Fuels from Edgeracing on my MCS that's lowered with HSports. I've got Falken Azenis in 205/50's and I scrape everytime I go over a speed bump or go into driveways.
I talked to a guy recently who said it was funny because he had the same Flik Fuels on his Miata.
I love the faster steering response of the 15's over larger wheels.
